As a fiscal conservative, I will work to ensure that your tax dollars are used in the most efficient and effective way possible, and will cut ineffective programs and services.
Blasting from the limestone quarries damages our homes on a daily basis, I pledge to work with all stakeholders to achieve a solution that works for all parties, and absent such a solution, work with the state legislature to restore the right for residents to have their fair day in court.
Miami Lakes is consistently rated as one of the safest municipalities in the state of Florida, this is largely in part to the great work of our officers and proper funding of the department. I will work to expand programs like community policing and expanding the use of new technologies like License Plate Readers that prevent crime, and help bring criminals to justice.
Years of poor regional transportation planning and overdevelopment have caused our streets to become congested with drivers looking for access to the highways system, I will work to bring all the stakeholders to the table and advocate for what is in the best interest of our residents, including doing whatever possible to make sure the I-75/154 Street overpass never opens to vehicular traffic, and becomes a park amenity that our residents can enjoy in perpetuity.
As one of the first master planned communities ever built in the 1960s, much of our infrastructure is aging or in need of improvement. I will make sure that we budget our reserves responsibly and make these improvements and repairs a reality. I will lead the charge to develop a master plan for ensuring that these needs are properly budgeted for in the future.
Technology is one of the only ways to increase the level of service, and reduce operating costs. I will use my experience implementing technology solutions and business process redesign to make our Town Government more efficient.
